Iron Removal Filters

Iron Removal Filters are used for removal of iron in water by passing water through a bed of manganese dioxide medium. As the water passes through the filter bed, the iron in soluble ferrous form is altered to ferric form.

The insoluble ferric hydroxide is filtered out. Conversion of ferrous to ferric is aided by mixing air in water. The most conducive pH for conversion is around 9.0.

Some of the applications for Iron Removal Filters are:

  • Pretreatment of Demineralization plant, Reverse Osmosis plant, Ultrafiltration plant & Softening Plant
